Good Morning All! I have added a new Family Photos Page with a link off of the main Photos Page. Just an effort in cutting down the clutter and make the Main page a little smaller. http://www.rootsweb.com/~tngibson/photos/family_photo_page.htm It looks like everyone is back from vacation and at work on their family histories again.. Some new photos have come in and I am working on a huge collection sent by Robert Duffey that will be posted shortly. BTW, Robert please email me. I lost your email address. I trust everyone had a great summer. Mine was a little short since I broke my leg in March and was laid up for a few months. Joyce and I did get some camping in around Oregon in August and September but not near as much as I wanted. Also, missed fishing season all-together unfortunately! Barry

Charlotte and all who are interested: Are you looking at census on line or are you looking at the microfilm? You can bet your life that the on line stuff misses some people so you should look at the film. Don't depend on the internet!! Check out the real thing!! And when reading film, be sure and read every name. This is something I learned many, many years ago. And I think the DAR Chapter in Milan is the Beverly Williamson Chapter. The J. D. Williamson family lived on the Germantown Road across the road from my aunt and uncle. Their daughter Dean and I were friends. This was in the 30's til?? Deanie still lives near Milan but her parents, J.D. and Elizabeth passed away some years ago. Mary June

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ReB.2ACE/2888 Message Board Post: I am trying to find out if my Williamson's are connected to these Williamsons in Gibson Co., TN. My gr gr grandfather was William W. WIlliamson. He was born in 1809 in Rutherford Co., TN. (According to his Civil War papers). I have been trying to find who his parents/siblings were. He married Nancy Bryant on May 15, 1834 in McCnairy Co., TN. They were living in McNairy Co., TN on the 1840 census. They are living in Henderson Co., TN on the 1850 census. They are in Henderson Co. on the 1860 census. It was from there that William and his son, George W. joined the Union Army in 1862. According to her Widow's Pension papers, Nancy Bryant Williamson moved to Hardin Co., either while William was still in the Army, or shortly after he was killed. William and Nancy are both buried in Liberty Cemetery in Hardin Co. William was shot and killed in a skirmish with Rebel soldiers outside Saltillo in Hardin Co. in 1864. His son, George, (my gr grandfather) spent 13 months as a prisoner in Andersonville Prison in GA. After the was, he married Talisa Elizabeth Hopper, daughter of Eli S.and Avis Ann Hopper on Dec. 9, 1866 in Hardin Co. George W. Williamson and family and mother, Nancy Williamson, and children are living in Hardin Co., on the 1870 census. I cannot find George and family listed on the 1880 census but I know that they were living in Milan in Gibson county as their son, Louis Washinton Williamson, was born there in 1880. Also, George's mother-in-law, Avis Hopper Benton, and his brother-in-law, Merida Hopper, are living in Milan on the 1880 census. Nancy Bryant Williamson and son Henry H. and wife, are still living in Hardin Co. in 1880. Somwhere around 1899-1890, George W. and Talisa moved to Stoddard Co., MO. Nancy Bryant Williamson died Sept. 9, 1891 in Hardin Co. On the 1810-1891 Tennessee Census in 1891, William and Nancy's sons George W,. John B. and James M. are listed in Hardin Co. George died on Oct 22, 1891. George had gone back for his mother's funeral in Sept. 1891 when he took ill and died at his sister, Eda Louise Williamson Barker's, house in Henderson Co., TN. He is buried in Lebanon Cemetery in Hardin Co. His wife, Talisa, and some of their children remained in the Stoddard, Dunklin and Butler County areas of MO. Some stayed in TN. I would very much like to hear from anyone of the Littleton, Ludah and Beverly Williamson family. Maybe we can make a connection. Thank you. Charlotte Christensen ly68@charter.net

Would you get in touch through email though? Not sure which part will be of interest to you and my Ramsey's sort of weave through several generations and states. PA, NC/SC along the state line, TN, MO, IL, I think they may have come from MD earlier on...say 1700 - 1730 or so...have not done as much research on them as on the Glenn line, but I have found the information follows them through their travel pattern. Would you give me a little background on your own groups? I am very interested. There were even Glenn's over in Gibson County TN though I am not sure they were my own. So you have had dna testing done? did you look at the matches to lines other than the main one? Did Ramsey or Rankin show up? Not that officially it means anything but I saw that in my brothers dna test, he matched a Robert Wilson perfectly I think and there were also strong family links to the Wilsons. So I am just curious.

Hello, I am new to this list as of now! I am seeking an obituary for Hazel A. Martin who died 15 May 1967. If there is a library that I should contact please let me know. She was born in TN, 16 Oct 1898. I have an idea that her last name was Armon but she had been divorced (per the 1920 census where she was listed as Hazel Armon, stenographer, and so I'm not sure that was her maiden name or her first husband's name She married Carl D. Martin between the 1920 and 1930 census. They lived in McAllen, Hidalgo, TX. Carl is my relative and I haven't had a lot of luck finding out about him. Any help is gratefully appreciated, Thank you, Susan
Hi, looking for any trace of this family name in the early 1800s, say 1790 - 1820. Cheers, D. Stewart

Hi, I am new to this list. Yesterday I found some information that points me to Gibson Co so I am here with several questions. Is anybody researching: 1.. Judity ROBERTS: all dates and places unknown but probably born around 1780, give or take a few years 2.. David BARNWELL: all dates and places unknown but probably born around 1780, give or take a few years 3.. David BARNWELL: born about 1800, Caswell, North Carolina 4.. Martha or Teny BARNWELL: born about 1805 in North Carolina, died before 1860 in Gibson Co 5.. John SADLER: born about 1802 in North Carolina David BARNWELL (#2) married Judith ROBERTS (#1) David BARNWELL (#3) and Martha or Teny BARNWELL (#4) are children of David and Judity. John SADLER (#5) married Martha or Teny BARNWELL (#4). BARNWELL is a new name that has come up in a line I am working on so I am trying to prove or disprove it. I charted this as it would be if BARNWELL is the correct name and subjects #3 and #4 the children of Judity ROBERTS (#1) and David BARNWELL (#2). The information that I found yesterday said that Martha or Teny (BARNWELL) SADLER died in Gibson Co, TN before 1860. I have the Smith County TN 1850 census records that show Martha ROBERTS and husband John SANDERS with 5 children. I have the Smith County TN 1860 census records in which John SADLER is with 3 of his children. This proves she died before 1860 and it is possible they moved to Gibson Co after 1850 and after the death of Martha they moved back to Smith Co. Added notes: The information I found for Judity ROBERTS and David BARNWELL gave other children as: a.. Priscilla or Drucilla born about 1808 in North Carolina b.. Female, name unknown, born about 1811 in North Carolina c.. Female, name unknown, born about 1813 in Tennessee d.. Female, name unknown, born about 1818 in Tennessee e.. Margaret G, born about 1820 in TGennessee f.. Female, born about 1822 in Tennessee g.. Female, born about 1825 in Tennessee h.. Male, born about 1828 in Tennessee I realize this is a lot to throw out at one time but I need some help. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you. Peggy Coleman
