Any idea where Orville's parents Joseph and Ann were from??? I have a Williams family over in Smith Co in the early 1800's. Several of their grandchildren ended up over on the Madison Gibson co lines. - Williams wasn't their last name. Teri

I'm trying to obtain information on any of these people: Genrose (Conway) Bodkin, June 7, 1897 - Nov 30, 1989. She is the daughter of D. P. (Dan) Conway, 1866 - 1928 and Mittie S. Conway, 1871 - 1941. She was married to L. Hobart Bodkin, Dec 27, 1897 - Jun 19, 1939. Also there was a connection between Genrose and P. H. Conway, 1865 -1908 . All five are buried at the Ross Hill Cemetery, Humboldt, TN. This is probably a shot in the dark but I thought I'd check with you. Thanks, H. Conway

Lola - Glad to see that Kenneth McEwen sent you info on Bobbitt Cemetery. I will just add that Pleasant Grove was located at or near Bobbitt Cemetery and that it was a parent congregation of the Dyer C. P. Church. They may have a record of membership. Lola: I do not know anything about the Bobbit Cementery, however, an Argustus Teneamos Lafamous Bobbitt, Sr. came to Texas from Tennessee sometime in the mid 1800's, probably about 1850. He married a Martha Hobdy March 27, 1851 in San Augustine County, Texas.. His daughter Amanda Bobbitt married my 1st Cousin 4 times removed, Charles Calvin Harvey, Jr. He may be kinfolk to some of your Bobbitt's. I do not know anything about the Bobbit Cemetery but do know something about the Bobbits before they came to Tennessee. I also would like to know who is buried in this cemetery. I am descended from Avarilla Green Stone, daughter of James and Ann "Nancy" Bobbitt Stone. Ann was the daughter of William Bobbitt. Avarilla Stone married Charnock Cox Rust and they moved to Maury County Tennessee. I believe, William Bobbitt, the brother of Nancy Stone also moved to Maury County. I am trying to find any info for a Armistead Jones son of Archer Jones Gibson Co 1850 census. I have the whole family but for Armistead I can find nothing. Can anyone help? I need marriage and children info. Thanks
You should be able to find them in the 1910 and 1920 census with their parents. There's the census soundex which you can search on microfilm, or of you know what county they were born in you can use the online indices on ancestry.com or heritagequest.com and limit the search to that county. My husband has Arnold ancestry, but his last ARNOLD was born about 1801. (Mary ARNOLD married Samuel S. MATHIS (b. 1801 in NC). Mary ARNOLD probably died in WIlson Co., TN, but she was mentioned in Gibson Co., TN records, where her husband settled.
