I posted a photo on the Lovelace message board at Ancestry.com that might be of interest to Lassiter descendents. Although I've promised the original to Lovelace family claimants, I can send a scan or snailmail a hard copy to a Lassiter -- No Charge! I enjoy sleuthing out families for lost photo treasures I find in flea markets and antique stores. It brings me luck on research trips, like the one I made recently to Gibson County. The photo was in a Dyersburg antique mall and was inscribed "L.T.Lassiter and wife Emma Lovelace Lassiter." By the way -- The library at Trenton is WONDERFUL! I had traveled a long way and it was worth every mile. The people are helpful and gracious, and the holdings are well cared for. Jere, I'm still trying to figure out if there was a relationship between the Joe Smith who shot and killed Will Butler in 1927 and Will Butler's wife Emma Smith Butler, who had died in 1923. I believe her name was Emma Clementine Smith, b. 30 Nov 1877. I have never been able to obtain a death certificate for her, tho' I've tried several times. I have tried my best to track down my greatgrandfather's (Wm. Thomas Wilson b. 1851 in Gibson County) siblings with no luck. I lost them all but my greatgrandfather and his brother after 1880 in Gainesville, TX after they left Gibson County. I've found almost every one of them from a tiny little notepad (1 1/2" x 3") that belonged to my great aunt that I recently found. She had recorded all family addresses in it around 1910-1920. I've found all but one in census records. Anyone looking for the George Flowers (b. 1854 and I believe his father was Felix Flowers) family? He married Amanda Jane Wilson (1852-1944). They married in Gibson County, moved to Gainesville and then on to Oklahoma. There is a very unusual entry in this book that I can't figure out........ Xanthins Wilson in Mayfield, Graves County, Kentucky Anyone ever heard such a name or have any information on this man? I'm just sure he's related! Every little clue helps! Thanks, Vicki
