    3. Bridgett, Fort Pillow is in Tipton County. Perhaps that host could help. There is a prison there now. I agree with Jess about the controversy over Forrest. As we were taught over here in West Tennessee, Forrest stopped the killing of the innocent Blacks when he found out about it. As you well know (VBG) he couldn't control all the hot heads in his command instantly - but he DID stop it as soon as he found out. Very much like the fact that probably all the Yankee generals weren't supportive of the Yankee soldiers destroying the South, - burning farms, killing innocent Whites, raping and stealing.
