Our regional list, DanvilleCrossing-L, which covers Stewart, Houston, Humphreys, Benton & Henry Counties has been quite successful. The majority of folks on this list are not on TNROOTS as they do not have in interest in the vast majority of the posts. These counties are small and do not have a large population base, but the number of individuals throughout the country whose ancestral families came from or past through these counties is quite large. They typically are not interested in the other areas of Tennessee as these counties were their destinations from North Carolina, Virginia, etc., before their families moved on to Texas, Missouri, etc. There are ebbs & flows to the posting traffic. Weekends are the heaviest as you would expect. Mid-week is kinda dead. I've noticed that although we still have "lurkers" most folks post, unlike the larger lists. I've also noticed a "sense of family" amongst the participants. However, there still is a desire & demand for specific county information & communication, so we have opened a "chat room" and are scheduling specific times & topics on a county basis in order to fill this demand. Anyway, works for us along the lower Tennessee River. Dave ===================================================================== David L.
