    3. Let me first point out a couple of minor things...one of them being that if you don't get a response immediately from someone it doesn't necessarily mean they are "deliberately ignoring" you. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe they are putting some thought to the answer? Another is that if you're looking for cooperation and explanations from someone...attacking them as hard as you can really isn't the best possible way to go about it. I will not comment on the events of the past six weeks or so except to say that Billie's version diverges from my experience vastly. I don't see how in any fashion continuing accusations and name calling is going to help anybody at all. How I got to be national coordinator? I was willing to take it on when John Rigdon left. Why is there a national coordinator? Because it's a national project. My creation of the board has been part of an attempt to open the project up and make it more democratic, make national offices elective and provide a consultative body for the national coordinator. All decisions in regard to Billie were taken in consultation with the board, and in fact I rather dawdled on removing her from their standpoint, because it really wasn't something that I wanted to do. Unfortunately, she wasn't prepared to acknowledge or repair what appeared to be massive problems, and that was affecting the relationship of the entire USGW project to volunteers and users, both internal and external. While I admit that there are no *good* solutions at that point, neither can USGW as a whole sit back and watch that happen with no response whatsoever. I'm sorry if this response seems a little cold, but my perception of what is happening on this list as regards me is that for the most part the people who are saying "I demand an explanation" are the same people who are saying "I don't really want one--I just want your head." It is extremely difficult to open a potentially productive dialogue on those terms. megan -- PLEASE NOTE URLS BELOW: [email protected] * [email protected] Megan Zurawicz, National Coordinator USGenWeb http://www.usgenweb.net -- http://www.usgenweb.org
