What I would like to know is, what authority do you have to relieve Billie and appoint Bridgett? I know what your title is but I don't see where you have the authority to do something like this. I thought each State was independent of one another and of the USGenWeb as long as they followed the guidelines set out by USGenWeb. Do the County Coordinators not have a say about who is fired and who is hired? And about what goes on in our State. As much as I think of Anne Hood and I thank her for all she has done for me, I disagree with her about the "Monarchy" or "Dictatorship" as someone else said. I spent 27 years of my life in the U.S. Army to preserve our freedom of speech, and our choice to elect our leaders, in everything. I think that each CC should have been consulted about this before it took place. Not to get up in the morning and check my e-mail to find that a coup has taken place. Was Billie even told that it was going to happen? It didn't sound like it from her reply in her "Administrative details" message. I guess it was a shock to her as it was to me. Like Anne, I wouldn't like the job either but would like to have had a say in it. >This is not a step taken lightly, but Billie's communication problems >have come to be nearly insurmountable. I've spent a month trying to >work out the problems with her, but either she isn't receiving my mail >or not responding to it, more often than not. I will be the first to admitt that Billie hasn't been there a lot of times when I needed her, and not answered the many messages that I sent to her. I had to rely on someone else. (Mostly Anne Hood.) My Dekalb County page was the third page in the State to go up in June of 1996. If it hadn't been for Billie it wouldn't have been done. When I started I was new to the Computer, new to the internet and new to Genealogy. I have since learned my way around the internet, do pretty well with the computer and learned HTML on my own and am now maintaining my own personal page as well as the County page. Any way I think that Billie got a raw deal the way it has worked out. Or appears that way to me. >Billie has done a great deal of really magnificent work with this >project, which I would be the last one to ever want forgotten. Yes I believe that Bridgett will do a good Job. That was not my concern. It is the way it has been handled. I know something needed to be done, but not this way. As several others have indicated I would like to be able to upload my own files. Well I have had my say. I guess I will be the next one to be fired. If so, So be it.
