June 14, 1824 Absolam Guess enters seventy five acres of land in Franklin County on Rock creek the waters of Elk river Beginning on a hickory tree the southwest corner of a 10 acre entry made by Absalom Faris Senr. running south to a point opposite John McCravey's northwest corner, thence east to sd. McGraveys northeast corner thence south 20 poles thence east & north & west to the beginning including seventy five acres. June 5th, 1824. Absolam Guess, Locator Note: This is written exactly as written, with 2 different numbers on the acreage. No 39 $6.25 50 Acres June 18, 1824 James Ragland enters fifty acres of land by virtue of the 49 chapter of the Acts of the Genl. Assemble of 1823, which provides for all those who can not procure grants on their old survey, the consideration money first being paid in the County of Franklin. Beginning on a post oak and black jack the northwest corner of Owen Taylors fifty acres on the section line & runs west one hundred & ninety four poles to two black oaks & a post oak, on the section line and in the east boundary line of Parker & Browns 500 acres and south with said line 66 poles to a black oak corner of Elias Oldhams land and east with the same 22 poles to two post oaks, corner of John Davis 29 acres and north with the same 46 poles to the northwest corner, thence east 90/98 poles to his northeast corner, thence south 46 poles to his southeast corner, on a four acre survey of Elias Oldham & with the same east 66 poles to a post oak on Owen Taylors beforementioned line and with the same north 72 poles to the beginning. Gray, Locator No 40 $12.50 100 acres June 18, 1824 Agreeable to an Act of General Assembly of the State of Tennessee passed at Murfreesboro on the 22nd Nov. 1823 David Montgomery enters one hundred acres of land in Franklin County on the Dry part of part of Rock Creek Beginning on a stout swold bud hickory about seventy poles south or a little west of south from sd. Montgomerys well marked thus D.M. with a L. running east 120 poles thence north so as to include the improvements whereon sd. Montgomery now lives. June 10th, 1824.
