No 22 $6.25 50 acres Joel Mathews locates fifty acres of land situated in Franklin County on the divide between Hurricane and Rock creek north branches of Elk river Beginning on a white oak near pond marked J.M. in presence of John Mathews running south to James Hoggalts north boundary line thence east with the same, thence north, thence west with the south boundary line of a tract formerly belonging to Drake & Anderson being Obe.(?) east & west so as to include his improvement. Berryhill enters one hundred & sixty acres of land in Franklin County in consideration of paying twenty dollars into the entry takes office of Franklin County, and the head of the eddy branch & adjoining a two hundred acre ttract to James Lewis(?) & William S. Gray on the south & west beginning at a black oak in said Berryhills field Lewis & Grays southwest corner, and runs east with their line one hundred poles to John Mathews line & with the same south to John Densons corner & with his line west crossing the road leading from Winchester to Farriss warehouse in all one hundred & eighty poles thence north for complement including the plantation which said Berryhill now lives. 26th May, 1824.
