I apologize for imposing, but I am interested in getting a copy of a deed, or at the least confirming what the deed says. >From my personal notes of a trip to the FC courthouse, I understand there there are seven unmarked graves on a plat of land near the Coffee county border in District 8, Franklin County, near Woods Reservoir and Bradley Creek. My notes indicate this information is located in Deed Book 34, page 72, date of deed Jany 9th, 1911. Believe the land was owned by Mr. John Duncan, then owned by the Elliott family out at Duncantown for many years, and is now owned by a descendant of the Elliotts, Mr. Ray Weaver. This is not urgent, and I ask for folks not to make a special trip out of the way. I believe that 3 of the 7 graves on that land are of my civilian ancestors executed by federal troops on January 11th, 1865. According to Civil War Provost Marshall Records recently discovered at the Nat'l Archives by members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans in Tullahoma, Yankee scouts based at Tullahoma riding under the flag of Co. A, 42nd Missouri Infty, US Vols, captured and shot William J. Saunders (1818-1865) Thomas G. Sanders (1814-1865) and Leroy Moore (1810-1865). These three non-combatant men were suspected of aiding Confederate guerrillas under by Col Jourdan Hays and John W. Purdom. Thank you for taking time to read this query! Respectfully, Keith W. Hi folks, It has been suggested asking y'all to put in a special prayer for all those folks in Florida. It is so sad what that state is going through. I know folks are going there to help out from all over the country. Let us pray that the rain will be sufficient to put out the fires and the people can get on with their lives. LOL, Judy
