I would love it someone had any information on the Choates from the Cookeville area. I bet we are probably related to the Choates from Fentress. Way back in 1998 while living in the baltimore maryland area, i went to one of the private libraries and researched the Choate family. Based on a conglomerate of information received thru what was then my family (now divorced) it was discovered that a Christopher Columbus Choate came to the United States aboard the ship Cecilius thru a Baltimore port. This is the reason I went to that library. When i had gone to that library, I was knee deep in raising the kids... now that I am back in Maryland.. I am wanting to help the families that also subscribe to the tnfentre website. I do know that the Choates started in Baltimore, migrated towards Fentress County Tennessee and I have traced them to Texas. Come to find ..... (although i cant document it at the moment).. that somehow the Choates are related to Governor James V. Allred who was the Texas Governor long time ago. Just so happened, when i found this information out, that i was employed at the James V. Allred unit of Texas Department of Criminal Justice. So it seemed so "surreal" that i started with Baltimore, went to Texas and now im back in Maryland. Today, I went to a cemetery, in Bel Air, Maryland. In that cemetery a headstone with the name Choate. I've passed that cemetery probably over a thousand times (having lived here since 1979). So I went to that cemetery to take a picture of that headstone and see if could find any other Choates in that cemetery. Sure enough.............. feel free to look for the Choates at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church cemetery in Bel Air, Maryland on _www.findagrave.com_ (http://www.findagrave.com) . I was surprised to see that someone had already documented a lot of those graves, but had completely left out a husband and wife named Choate. I hope this helps anyone looking for Choate ancestors. If anyone needs me to go to that library and do some physical research for them, please dont hesitate to ask. odielion aka beckie schuster (ex wife of the direct ancestor of the Choates from Fentress County Tennessee) even tho i'm not related... that doesn't mean that the records for my kids arent being worked on still to this day :) with all respect beckie http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/TNFENTRE ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TNFENTRE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/TNFENTRE ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TNFENTRE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
