Hi Gerri, I think that is the same David and that is the Alexander Beaty who was brother of Andrew. It has been a while since I've worked with these guys, but as I recall the other more likely possibility being considered was that Alexander was an uncle of David. I believe Alexander was the younger son of his family and there were probably other older brothers besides Andrew. My theory is that some of the nephews also moved from the Sullivan Co., TN area to the Fentress Co./Clinton Co. area when all the other Beatys came about 1800. I still think all of the Beatys in that area are related -- it is just difficult to sort them out as to relationship until we find more documentation. Sure wish a couple of good wills would turn up around there listing all the names. Deed Book D To: tnfentre@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <AANLkTikZw=LWGT1veGjA_DjytRZv5ZHi-9=mNHfvLM+0@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 p. 225 David Beaty of Overton Co., Tennessee, appoints Alexander Beaty of Cumberland County, Kentucky his attorney, 1817. I'm wondering of this David Beaty is 1783 David, brother of George and John and if Alexander is 1768 Alexander, brother to Rev. War Andrew. If they are, it would make me think they are brothers. Why else would David appoint Alexander his attorney if he wasn't his brother? Any comments? Gerri
