Bill, I've crossed the river on that ferry. Would carry one vehicle and was powered by an outboard boat motor. I was told it closed in the mid-seventies, but it was fifties when I remember it. I have seen a picture of a paddle boat at Spurrier, but don't remember which book it is in.
