    3. I always knew that my father's family came from Scotland. After I had traced them back to the early 1800s I started on my mother's family. I knew she was born in Wilder in Fentress County. My mother's family are descendants of Marrietta Ramsey and Sam Houston Rodgers. I found out that they were buried in the Banner Springs Methodist Church cemetery. In a trip to go to the "Worlds Longest Yard Sale", and by making inquiries I was given directions to the church but did not see a cemetery. I then drove a few feet east of the church and spotted a mail box with the name Rodgers on it. I knocked on the door and was invited in. I asked Mr. Rodgers if he knew where San Houston Rodgers was buried. He replied that he could because he had attended the funeral. He got in his pickup and led us down a dirt road about 200 yards behind the church where the cemetery was. He was actually one of my ancestors. He showed us the graves of Marrietta and Sam. Regretfully I did not write down the name of this gentleman and if anyone knows who he is and whether he is still alive, please let me know. If anyone knows of any Rodgers in this family I would appreciate receiving any information about them. I know some of them lived in Cookeville and Monterey. BTW, I have seen the name spelled Rogers also. If anyone can give me proper spelling, I would appreciate it. I live in Alabama near Birmingham. I have found that the members of this List are very helpful. Walter Kirkwood
