His wife was Mary Englantine Bowden and was quite a bit taller than Tilmon. I have many pictures of them but one I treasure most is of him and Mary together . . . with him standing on a wooden box so he would be as tall as her. Pretty funny! I can imagine something like this happening because my dad used to tell stories about what they did as kids growing up in Fentress county for fun. They used to make tobaggans by tieing saplings together and then sledding down the mountains. They lost my dad's youngest brother about halfway down the mountain when he got thrown off the back of the sled after hitting a big dip. Had to climb back up, look for him, and then dig him out of a big snow drift! They used to raid watermelon patches on a regular basis and end up getting shot with rock salt. Yes, country kids have much more imagination than city kids. Thanks again for sharing that story - I really enjoyed it!
