    3. Hi Friends:  I was fortunate that at age 21 (nearly 46 years ago) I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Very quickly I was introduced to genealogy since a doctrine of the Church is to trace your ancestors and see that temple ordinances such as proxy baptisms are performed in temples for them.  I began talking to all of my oldest living relatives (grandparents, great aunts and uncles, etc.).  My interest was off and on for many years, but about 15 years ago I made the decision to do York's Fentress Co, TN database to preserve the ancestries and descendancies of every family connected to Fentress County.  It is now expanding into Overton and Pickett counties and at this writing has 297,971 names.  25,643 of them descend from my earliest York ancestor.  I love it and appreciate all of your help.

    3. Hi Friends and possible Relations! I got started about 15 years ago. After hearing for years from family members about the "Cherokee" connection I decided to try and prove it! Well, I still haven't proved it but I was hooked! I have learned a lot about my family thanks to the people like you guys who decided to preserve our history. I am a Delk/Patton descendant from Jamestown Tn. The information that exists today is readily available because of you.   I came to Canada as a child so being able to ask older family members about our ancestors was not always an option for me. If anyone knows any information about the "Eldridge" family from Putnam Co. I would appreciate it. I have hit a brick wall trying to find info about Joseph Eldridge married to Elizabeth Davidson. They are my great-granparents. My father was from Cookeville Tn.
