The Muncie Star Press: Thursday December 22 2005 Roxie O. Hensley, 96 MUNCIE - Roxie O. Hensley, 96, died Sunday afternoon, December 18, 2005 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was born, October 9, 1909, in Fentress County, Tennessee the daughter of George and Sioda Robbins Smith. She spent her early years in that area before moving to Muncie in 1946. Mrs. Hensley attended Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are her son, Arthur D. Hensley (wife-Mary), Muncie; three grandchildren, Anthony D. Hensley (wife-Melanie), Selma, Tammy Stephenson, Muncie, and Kelly Stevens (husband-Mark), Selma; eight great grandchildren, Brandon Hensley (wife-Melissa), Parker City, Jeremy Hensley, Marina Del Rey, California, David Stephenson (wife-Jennifer), Kokomo, Angie Stephenson, Indianapolis, Adam Stephenson, Muncie, Markie Stevens, Selma, Heather Biven, Selma, and Stacy Hart, Muncie; four great great grandchildren, Samantha and Cassandra Hensley, Kyle Stephenson, and Mikie Biven; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Hensley in 1983, her son, Charles Hensley, and eight brothers and sisters. Services will be held in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory Chapel at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2005, with Rev. Jim Ballenger and Pastor James O. McCowan officiating. Private burial will follow later in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 12 noon until time of service on Monday.
