    2. Ambrose Lanvan Stephens was the son of Henry Ethridge Stephens (b. August 05, 1897, d. August 23, 1978) and Verta Ellen Crockett (b. June 15, 1902, d. March 1975) -- both are buried at Livingston Cemetery in Fentress County. Ambrose L. Stephens, 79 MUNCIE - Ambrose Lanvan Stephens, 79, died Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at his residence, following an extended illness. Ambrose was born in Jamestown, Tennessee on December 25, 1925 to Henry and Verta Stephens. He made Muncie his home in 1959. He retired from Ben Ziegler and Company in 1989 after 30 years. Ambrose attended East 16th Street Separate Baptist Church before his illness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Maizell Stephens; son, Lanny (Kelli) Stephens; daughter, Lisa (Tom) Hayth; six loving grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Stephens, Samantha Stephens, Tyler Bennett, Savannah Stephens, Jacob Hayth and Hannah Hayth; and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kirby Stephens and Cosby Stephens both of Jamestown, TN; five sisters, Beatrice Reagan of Eaton, IN, Louise King and Imogene Hinds both of Jamestown, TN, Shirley (Clyde) Cooper of Martinsville, IN and Ann (Charles) Rich of Dickson, TN; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Ambrose was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Travis (Tack) Stephens and sister, Dorothy Beaty. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2005 in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory Chapel with Rev. James O. McCowan and Rev. William "Bill" Parson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday or prior to the service on Saturday.
