Sarah, From reading your info. regarding Peter Reagan/Riggins of NC there must have been 2 Peter Reagans/Riggins in NC. You mention a Peter Riggins in Dobbs Co., NC 1777-79. He then is in Rowan Co., NC 1779. In 1785 Peter is still in Rowan Co., NC. The Peter Reagan I have been researching enlists in Rev War 1774 in Rowan Co., NC then is in Wilkes Co., NC on Naked Creek area from at least 1779 till the time he moves to Overton Co., TN aft 1806. Possible cousins? Or am I missing/overlooking something? Micajah Hart is listed in 1780 tax list of Dobbs as in District 6 (near Snow Hill and Hookerton). Perhaps that is the site of the Riggins piece of land. 1779: Peter Riggins had 250 acres on Rich Fork of Abbotts Creek adjoining Jesse Gilliam and John Roberts for Compliment. From Rowan Co Vacant Land Entries 1778-1789. Lord Granville had a 60 mile strip along the border of NC with the south edge about the place where Rowan County north line is today. Granville died in 1763. Settlers had no legal title until the NC land office opened in 1778. Deed were recorded 15 years later than when people first settled in some cases. Land entry for Peter Riggen, Entry #2140, March 20, 1779--entering 250 acres of land in Rowan Co., NC on the Rich Fork of Abbott's Creek joining Jesse Gillom and John Roberts for compliment. Land entry for Peter Riggen, Entry #2844, January 29, 1785--entering 210 acres of land in Rowan Co on Jamey's Creek, waters of Abbott's Creek, joining Richardson Owen at the southwest corner. (Today on I-85 South in Rowan County Abbots creek is named.) November, 1779 Richard Jordan Mitchell and Hugh Leek lived adjacent to Peter Reggins in Rowan Co. According to one source Peter Reagan Sr. and Charles Reagan b. 1734 in Shenandoah Co, VA (d.
