Willie, Just wanted to let you know that Trevor's class enjoyed your Grist Mill Book. They spent three days with the book, and the class had to go to the library and look up Grist Mills in Wisconsin. Their teacher had never heard of them before, the second day she came to school and told the children that she mentioned it to her father and he told her that her Gr. Grandfather had one. She said it was a real treat, and enjoyed Trevor sharing his southern roots with them. I am sorry to say they don't do much history teaching here anymore. But am happy your book enlightened Trevor's class. Patty
Patty, Thanks for the report on your grandson's use of Grist Mills of Fentress County. It is really gratifying to know about the discussion of the book in school. Your welcomed Willie, Next year the twin grand-daughters will be in 3rd grade and they will being doing the traditional 3rd grade genealogy, and I will be taking some of my other books in for their class. They are excited about it. Their teacher said for me to bring the Grist Mill book back for their class. Maybe sometimes it takes an outsider to get roots growing, and history of our country discussed among the children again. The children seem to enjoy it, they had ask about doing a class quilt of their families. Interesting to say the least.
