    1. Re: [TNFENTRE-L] Sgt York's store 1946
    2. Thanks, Patty. Now I know. BTW there were 3 one cent stamps on the letter....My Granny gave me the letters my mother had written to her from 1946 to July 1949 when she died. I love reading them. She also gave me the derss she wore to the hospital. I still have it also. I also found one Miss GRACIE WILLIAMS YORK had written to me also. She was telling me about who all had died and for me to stop and see her when I came back down to Pall Mall. I will see if I can find your Granny's store when I come down again. 3. Milly, Those precious letters are held close to the heart aren't they. When are you planning on going down? Maudie (Young) Hancock lived in the little store for a while, she passed in 2002. She was a really sweet women. My step-grandfather Milton Smith's farm is on Harmon Smith also. His grandson lives on the farm now, but none of the orginal buildings are left. There was an old oak tree that stood there, but it went down in a storm a couple of years ago. The last time I was there, I could still see the old house in my mind, and all of us youngster taken baths on the screened in back porch. Funny how things go, Grannie's (my moma's mother) second marriage was to granpa Milton, who was not blood relation, but his first wife (who died) Fanny Newberry was my Daddy's relation. And my first granpa was a Smith also, and he and Milton were not related. It makes a line hard to follow, so I have two Smith lines I cannot connect yet.
