Gary I have never personally seen the flower boxes but I have a picture of my husband's grandmother in Alvinston Ontario Canada with a flower box on Grandpa Piros and Uncle Bob's graves. I wondered what they were and why the flowers were displayed that way. I thought maybe it was a Hungarian thing. They migrated in 1911 to Canada. They became Canadian citizens.
