    3. Pat, Unless there are a lot of mistakes among my branch of the family, the Peter Reagan that married Nancy Cauthon is the son of Peter Reagan and Rebecca Lindsey. Of course it is hard to tell about all of these names without wills. Do you have any for Peter Reagan? Most of what I have came from articles by Wilma Pinkley Reagan. (She has a magnificent book that was John Reagan's.) I have taken some of her work and gone from there. Here is a piece of record for Nancy Cauthon Reagan from the Vanlandingham genealogists: Nancy Cauthon married a son of Dawson Vanlandingham about 1788 in Warren Co, NC. Peter Riggin was her second husband. The child Winny is mentioned in the Nov. 1793 Will Book #7 entry. Will of John Cauthorn 26 June, 1794; Nov. Ct. 1794. Wife Sarah. Extrx; his three children by her, all minors: Polly, John, and Thomas. Mentions land bought from his brother Thos. Does not indicate relationship but names Winny Vanlandingham dtr. of Nancy Vanlandingham. Extr: Friend Dennis Paschall. Wit: John Short, (Jurat), Dennis Paschall(Jurat) and Nancy Vanlandingham. Apparently Winney Vanlandingham was left in Warren Co, NC, as Nancy and Peter Reagan went west. There is a detailed version of how that was determined on the website. Here is a land transaction from Deed book D of Overton Co, TN. Peter Reagan Sr. from John McIver--350 acres Peter Reagan Jr. from John McIver--352 acres Here is a land transaction in Fentress: #3--February 1, 1825 Peter Ragen Sr. to Peter Ragen Jr. for $50 102 acres beginning on the south side of Obey River at the lower end of the bottom on which Peter Sr. now lives Here are the children I have for Peter Reagan and Nancy Cauthon. Caleb L. seems to be named for Rebecca Lindsey Reagan's brother. My family is from John Reagan. John Reagan's first son was named Peter. Children of PETER REAGAN and NANCY CAUTHON are: 2. i. JOHN6 REAGAN, b. February 08, 1802, North Carolina; d. October 05, 1876, Little Crab, Tennessee. 3. ii. WILIAM BILLY REAGAN, b. 1811; d. 1895. 4. iii. CALEB L. REAGAN, b. 1799, NC; d. Seneca, MO. 5. iv. CHARLES REAGAN, b. June 04, 1803, NC. 6. v. ELIZABETH REAGAN, b. 1805, NC. vi. JOEL LUCY REAGAN, b. 1807, NC; m. MARGARET Here are some more bits and pieces. I apologize for not being able to tame the computer to get things copied in a more manageable way. I have no idea whether these are all about the same Peter Reagan. I haven't been aware of a son of Charles named Peter who was around this area too. It will take all of us and more to figure out these Reagans. March 12, 1830, Peter Reagan lived on Crabb Creek. Peter Reagan, clergyman, is listed as a resident of Fentress County, TN, in 1838 and attests to a man's truth in his Revolutionary War application. The application was for John Hood, #S1534 April, 1833. Peter Reagan marked his name with X Bought 153 acres approximately 10 miles west of Jamestown in 1819. Enlisted Men, War of 1812 From TN: Peter Ragan, Pvt. Col S. Wear, Capt. Joseph Calloway. Mounted Infantry
