My Choates came from Fentress and is intertwined with the Conatsers, Wrights, etc. etc. etc. My maternal grandmother lived in Fentress Co., until about 1903 when her father Edward Russell "Russ" Choate and her mother Margaret Elizabeth Conatser followed several of their sons to Tarrant Co., TX. Edward Russell Choate was the s/o Austin Bulger Choate and Mary Ann "Polly" Barnes. Margaret E. Conatser was the d/o John Conatser and Elizabeth Ellen Wright................... I have scads of notes, as well as another Choate cousin Dave Atkinson.......we both live in OK. Am always willing to share whatever data I have, cause I don't throw anything away.........Choate probably isn't mentioned much anymore, a lot of research has been done on that line, north and south branches, but I know that a lot of the newer generations need to be updated. For all I know we may be 2nd or 3rd cousins but the accent of most researches is for the earliest dates possible, and us later born cousins, sometimes get lost in the shuffle. I do not have a Casper Choate and would love to know that family. I have so many John Choates in my database I'll need a birthdate to see what I have on him; I have two Margaret Wrights but don't know that I have that much on either one of them.
