Thanks for the compliment on the Genealogy section, it belongs to the Historical society and we try to keep it updated Myra
That would be great but in the past ten years I have heard many stories of what they want to do. So far nothing is in the works. The building is literally falling down, many windows are out , the brick is deterorating and many have fallen out I heard that a part of the roof had fallen on the top floor. It looks so sad, I cant believe it was allowed to get in such a awful state. Sgt. York would be devasted if he saw it now I wonder where our pride is to let this happen Myra --- Anna Bertram <abertram@heartoftn.net> wrote: > Myra, > > When they start the renovation of the old YAI (York > high school) maybe you all could have a room of your > own??? > > Just a thought . . . > > Anna Bertram > abertram@heartoftn.net > phone 615-765-535 > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: myra smith > To: TNFENTRE-L@rootsweb.com > Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 12:53 PM > Subject: Re: [TNFENTRE-L] Roundup > > > The library does have a conference room but it is > very > small. Is the YAI on the national list of historical places? There might be some govt. funding available to preserve a National Treasure. Myra, I have the Grist Mill that we used Saturday in my garage. When can I bring it up to the Jail? Will need to meet someone there, or have a key available in the Chamber office. It will require a table about four feet long by 2 feet wide to accommodate it. I will bring one of the books to display with it, and also an acknowledgement that Bernard Taubert made and donated it to the Historical Society.
