Some of us actually live in Louisiana... thankfully, we won't get the full effect of the storm where I live (Monroe) but we've had wind since early Friday from the extreme outer bands, very little rain yet, but we're expecting that to come tomorrow... I'll be well east of the center of the storm, but still in danger of flooding as they are saying maybe 8" of rain where I live. My daughter is in Shreveport - Bossier City area and they are probably going to get beat with wind and rain tomorrow. Winds here should be 30-35 mph with stronger gusts... have already had small branches and debris blowing around... my prayers to those who will get far worse than I am expecting and praying for no spin off tornados. We have many evacuees in this area from both Katrina and now from Rita. Please pray for them as these storms have disheartened them so. Pray for all of us in the gulf coast area. Oh Marsha, your head has got to be just spinning. I've thought so much about all the families. I do hope & pray that you and yours will be ok!! These 2 storms, back to back, have been horrible. Know that everyone is sending you our thoughts!! Hi, Yes we are very concerned. The storm seems to have missed all but one of my people. And I know of no way of finding out about her. She is my aunt, Gracie McFarland Hedricks, she turned 94 in July and lives in Baytown in her own home. Gracie is the grand daughter of Alexander Miller McFarland and Susannah Caroline Wood. Both were born in Fentress County in the 1840's. The area of Texas that they settled after their children were born is in East Texas , Tyler area, and that isn't far from Lufkin or Shreveport. If any of our Fentress Family hears or knows what is actually going on in the Baytown area could you let us know? I live in Florida.
