Crossville Chronicle obit Published March 24, 2006 March 17, 1919 - March 19, 2006 Lillie Edna Hood Mullinix, 87, of Jamestown, passed away March 19, 2006. Funeral services were conducted March 21 from the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home, with interment in Fentress Memory Gardens. Bro. Tommy Duncan and Bro. Gale Hartley officiated. Mrs. Mullinix was born March 17, 1919, the daughter of the late Porter and Gertrude (Blevins) Hood. On March 27, 1944, she married Frank Edward Mullinix, who preceded her in death June 5, 1998. A 1939 graduate of York High School, she went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in 1940. She was elected in 1944 to the office of Circuit Court Clerk and worked for U.S. Rubber in Detroit, MI, in the early 1950s. She taught business at Clarkrange High School and in the late 1950s worked as payroll clerk for the Jamestown Shirt Factory. She was employed by Union Bank in Jamestown in the 1960s until she left to work with her husband in the Fentress County Tax Assessor office until their retirement. But her main career was raising her family. She was a member of the Jamestown First Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Steve R. Mullinix and wife, Ruth, Bruce F. Mullinix and wife, Marilyn, and Frank Allen Mullinix and wife, Diane; her daughters, June Rosemary Sexton and husband, Wendell, and Theresa Carol Peercy and husband, Ted; nine grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lowanda Gernt and husband, Charles, and Lois Hood Thompson Moreland and husband, Carl; sisters-in-law, Blanch Wright and Ellen Hood; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Woodrow Hood, Porter Hood Jr., Edward Dooley Hood and Layton Preston Hood. Pallbearers were Larry Sexton, Derek Mullinix, Porter Mullinix, Rick Wells, Chad Banks and Joe Binswanger. Jennings Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
