While this is not about that I would like to know if anyone on the list knows if any where one could find social events that occured in Jamestown in the mid 30's to mid 40's. I am really guessing about the dates. I would like to find information about a place we always called "The Big Rock". It is in the woods behind the house where my aunt lived from sometime in the 30's until her death in March 2006. I played in that woods, so did my son and daughter and grandaughters. My aunt use to tell of times in the past when social events were held there. As none of us has cleaned the rock in the last few years it is probably about covered with debris that collects as the trees loose their leaves and etc. I know there was a natural spring there and it was where laundry was done or water carried from for whatever was needed. Have any of you ever heard of such a place? Marilyne On 11/14/06, MPiros1120@aol.com <MPiros1120@aol.com> wrote: > > When we lived in Devonia I must have been about 7 years old. I have heard of a place called "The Battle Rock" located off Round Mountain Road (East of Jamestown app 4 miles) on property now owned by The Allred Family. Also, another place called "The Gun Rock" located on Darrow Ridge Road (NE of Jamestown app 10 miles) on property now owned by The Gernt Family Denver Hicks ----- Original Message ----- From: "marilyn e brown" <marilyneb@gmail.com> To: <tnfentre@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2006 6:04 PM Subject: Re: [TNFENTRE] I remember > While this is not about that I would like to know if anyone on the list > knows if any where one could find social events that occured in Jamestown > in > the mid 30's to mid 40's.
