This "Big Rock" is actually in Jamestown and I am sure that is not the real name. It is not that far from downtown Jamestown. I might think differently if I was walking it today. I wish I could remember who owns the woods in which it is located. That wonderful person gave Aunt Cora the use of the woods, he knew she loved to walk, hike there. Back around 1940 my parents lived on the other side of the woods, their house is long gone as is the path mom and Aunt Cora had worn out going back and forth. The path could still be found when I was around 10 - 15 as Aunt Cora and I used it to trace the things she and mom had done there. If I get back to Tennessee this year I will just have to see what I can find. Are there archives for the old newspapers? Yes, Mariolyne, the library in Jamestown has old newspaper on microfilm. Sadly, there are lots of missing issues from the twenties thru the forties.
