Does anyone remember leap-frog, Mother May I, red rover, tag, crack the whip, hopscotch, go in & out the window, ring around the rosie, duck duck goose, & a variation of that called heavy heavy hangs over your head, pretty girl station, as well as the most popular hide & go seek? How about counting-out rhymes to decide who would be "it"? We used one-potato, eenie meenie minie mo, and I can't remember any more, but I'm sure there were dozens. Can anybody remind me? The only indoor board games I remember are checkers and monopoly, neither of which I liked because I always lost. I never would have thought of these games again if it hadn't been for the Fentress County list! I grew up in Bristol,Tennessee. My father came from Fentress Co. Thanks to all for the memories. Ellie
Ellie, How about "My mother and your mother..."? Here we played fox and goose in the snow, and mush ball. Moma would take an old sock and stuff it and sew it shut. She would paint it orange so we could see it in the snow. Old card board boxes made good sleds.
