    3. Greetings List! I'm trying to find out what happened to Martha A. MANNING, born about 1853, probably in Bledsoe Co., TN. She was the daughter of Mariah MATHEWS and John Howard MANNING. John died during the Cavil War and his widow, Mariah, married 2nd Jesse BERTRAM. Martha A. MANNING, age 17, was enumerated twice in 1870; once in the home of her step-father, Jesse BERTRAM in Wayne Co., KY, and also in the home of Henry and Lucinda POOR in Jamestown, Fentress Co., Tennessee. I suspect she married in Fentress Co., TN but all the marriage records before 1905 were destroyed. If anyone has any information on what happened to Martha please contact me. I'll gladly share what ever I have. 1870 Wayne Co., KY Census; June 18; Slick District; UP.OF.
