    1. Re: [TNFENTRE-L] 3rd set of Roscoe & Carl Wright
    2. Hello, People: I do have another WRIGHT family that has the names of Roscoe 'Hollis' WRIGHT and his brother, Carl WRIGHT. Roscoe 'Hollis' WRIGHT was born July 25, 1914, and died September 25, 1998, both in Casey Co., KY. He is buried at the WHITED Cemetery in Casey Co., KY. He was 5y on the January 19, 1920, Census of Casey Co., KY. The information I have on Carl is his birth year was 1916 and the 1920 Casey Co., KY Census has him listed at 3y 9/12 m and they are both listed as the sons of James David and Martha 'Issabella' (CHOATE) WRIGHT. Carl died in 1931 and he is buried at the AUSTIN Cemetery, in Casey Co., KY. Neither of these sons married. The parents were from Fentress Co., TN and had a total of 13 children, the first 5 being born in Fentress Co.: the rest in Casey Co., KY. The Father, James David WRIGHT was the son of John Taylor and Elizabeth A. (KING) WRIGHT. The Mother, "Issabell' was the daughter of Matilda Emeline (known as Aunt Ev) (SCOTT) WHITED and William Thomas (SHOAT) CHOATE. Issabell was raised by her husband's Grandparents: Mathias Austin and Elizabeth Jane (WRIGHT) WRIGHT. James and Issabell are both buried at the AUSTIN Cemetery in Casey Co., KY. "Aunt Ev" was the daughter of my Great Grandfather; James Tunis and his first wife, Asenath (ANDERSON) SCOTT. She married Alexander W. WHITED December 17, 1885, in Casey Co., KY. Alexander's first wife died about 1880 and they had two sons: James B. and Daniel Boone WHITED. I do not have the name of this Mother. If anyone has this information, I would love to know where to find it. Alexander was a Pvt. in D Co. of the 1st Tennessee Mounted Infantry. He and his wife, Aunt Ev, and the two sons are all buried at the WHITED Cemetery in Casey Co., KY. All of this information is in my files and I have been in and searched in both Counties when I can. I live in California, and I would welcome any corrections and any other information. Surely there is some connection to these three WRIGHT Families. Thank you all for your interest. Dixie (SCOTT)

    3. Dixie, My Carl and Roscoe are distantly related to you, I think. I have Mathias Austin Wright (b. 1815) as the son of Mathew W. Wright (b. 1789) . I have Elizabeth Jane Wright (b. 1817) as daughter of John Wright (b. 1787). Mathias Austin and Elizabeth Jane Wright were first cousins who married. My family {descendants of Samuel}believes that Samuel Wright (b. 1810) was another first cousin born of David Wright. David may not have made it into Fentress (but Samuel did) and David was a third brother to Mathew and John. Even if all of this is accurate, we don't know the source of Roscoe and Carl. Mine seem to be the oldest so far. I would love help in sorting all of this out. Sarah
