The bird flu pandemic of 1918 killed the Culver brothers, Lorenzo Dow and Jacob P. Both are buried in the Albertson Cemetery. Both of their tombstones are now broken. Lorenzo Dow Culver was an early tobacco agent. He use to go to the Ohio River ports in Kentucky for his market. Thomas B. was another Culver brother. He was killed while fighting near the Albertson School House on October 26, 1863. Although Thomas is buried in the Lige Watters Cemetery, it would seem that he must have been killed very near his parents' house since Nancy Culver, his mother, was also buried in the Albertson Cemetery.
