Crossville Chronicle obit Published October 27, 2005 Hanging Limb? Fentress? Overton? Roxie Hoover March 5, 1919 - Oct. 23, 2005 Roxie Hoover, 86, of Hanging Limb, TN, passed away Oct. 23, 2005. Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. The Rev. Arnold Murphy and the Rev. Ovle Tinch will officiate and interment will follow in the F.A. Norrod Cemetery in Hanging Limb. Mrs. Hoover was born March 5, 1919 in Overton County, the daughter of Ambrose and Ollie House Murphy. She was a member of the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, the Green Pond Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #482 and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of over 68 years, B.M. (Lon) Hoover of Hanging Limb; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Coleman Looper of Rickman, TN, Brenda and James Matthews of Hanging Limb and Barbara and Ronnie Poston of Cookeville; sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie Jr. and Wanda Hoover of Hanging Limb, Randall and Mildred Hoover of Monterey and Marrison and Jacqueline Hoover of Hanging Limb; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Flora Hargis of Crossville; and sisters-in-law, Rachel Murphy of Rickman and Lilly Mae Murphy of Green Pond, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Ethel and Judy Ann Hoover; 10 brothers; and three sisters. Goff Funeral Home of Monterey is in charge of the arrangements.
