Pulled out my papers on the census, not sure how much information you want. Know you are basically trying to find out about Joel's family. In 1790 Wilkes Co. NC Peter Regens shows 4 sons. According to Wilma R. Pinckley their birth years were Joel b. 1774, Wm. b. 1776, Charles b. 1778 and Peter Jr. b. 1779. Think these years are probably close. By 1800 Joel and Wm. are married and still in Wilkes: Joel has 2 daughters under 10 and Wm. has 1 son under 10 and 1 daughter under 10. Peter and Rebeckah are living with Joel. In 1810 Joel has 2 sons under 10, 1 daughter under 10 and 2 daughters 10-16. Wm. has 1 son under 10 and 1 son 10-16 but no daughters. The daughter from 1800 possibly married young, family rumor says she died in a fire.(you know how rumors are though) 1820 shows Joel in Overton Co. with Peter Sr. & Jr. it shows he has one son to 10 and one son 16 to 18, could this be Samuel and Larkin. Wm. Ragan is in Wilkes Co. NC shows he has one son to 10, 3 sons 10-16, 2 sons 16 -26, and 1 daughter to 10. By 1830 Joel has passed away and believe his wife to be Rachel that is listed. It shows 2 males under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 15-20 (Larkin ?) and 1 male 20-30 (Samuel ?), 1 female 5-10, 1 female 15-20 (daughter ?), 1 female 20-30 ( Samuel's wife?) and 1 female 50-60 (Rachel) this is only food for thought, but do you think it possible that after his father's death he lived with his mother? Because by 1840 seems she has passed away. Peter Srs. son Charles was said to have lived in Overton Co. but I could never find him, in 1830 census he is in Wilkes Co. NC with 1 son to 5, 1 son 10-15, 1 son 20-30 and 2 males 50-60 (wonder if one of these could be Wm. as I couldn't find him) he also has 1 daughter 15-20 and his wife 50-60. Let me know your thoughts.
