My checks were returned with a note that the Hogue books and the Wilma Pinckley books were no longer available. Should these be removed from the site? ______________________________ X-Message: #2 Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2006 12:53:37 EDT From: MPiros1120@aol.com To: TNFENTRE-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <501.3a0c4c3.31ee6c11@aol.com> Subject: Books Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" aj12x12@msn.com You should email Myra Smith at the address below and let her know. So one of the 5 sons that have been listed for Joel Jr. belong to either Joel or Charles Reagan. Queston is who? I think Charles b 1778 had the son Charles b. abt 1800. Not sure abt who the other 2 sons were b. 1804-10. In regards to Wm "Billy" Reagan, I note that he is listed on 1830 Fentress Co census, apparently just married, no children yet. He had to be at least 21 by 1830, therefore his BD was abt 1809, not 1811. The census indicates he was b. 1801-1810. Also I note that you had him to be md to a Mary "Mollie" Beaty. I know know who the ? Reagan is of 1880 Fentress. He was b. 1808/09 and md to a "Mollie". He is Wm "Billy"Reagan. What still concerns me more is the BD of Samuel Reagan. Either 1791-1800 according to 1840 Fentress, or abt 1810/11 according to 1850 Overton and 1860 Fentress. Are there 1 or 2 Samuel Reagans? Another question? To whom did Larkin Reagan Marry? Was it Mary Bookout? I find him in 1840 Fentress, but cannot locate him afterwads. He had a daughter, Anna who married in MO. I wonder if Joel Reagan moved there after 1840? Caleb Lindsey Reagan b. 1801 Wilkes Co. marr. Susan D. (possibly Findley) 2. John Reagan (my line) b. 08 Feb. 1802 marr. Nancy Findley 3. Charles Reagan b. 04 June 1803 marr. Lavinia Mace 4. Elizabeth Reagan b. 1805 marr. Joshua Storie 5. Joel Lucy Reagan b. 1807 marr. Margaret Pennycuff 6. Wm. "Billy" Reagan b. 1811 marr. Mary "Molly" Beaty I think this is the only sons he had, but there is still a daughter out there and maybe 2. Believe your right with Joel having sons Samuel, Larkin and Thomas, think it possible one of the sons could have passed away? If the genealogy on Charles Reagan from VA is correct then the Charles in the Overton census belongs to that line. Don't know who the M. is not sure I have seen it. Is it in Fentress? If so that could be the son of Joel's you are looking for. Joel Lucy only had one son John Calvin b. abt 1830 and died during the Civil War. Hope this helps. As to Wm. "Billy" mentioned before some researchers think he was not the son of Peter Jr. my information on him came from a gentleman in TX who is a descendant of Wm. I am not sure we will every find out the birth dates of our ancestors, unless someone should have their family bible with dates. Joel first shows 2 sons in 1810 so would assume Samuel & Larkin were born between 1800 and 1810. As for 2 Samuel's don't know of any other besides your Jacob Samuel who evidently went by his middle name. I do not know who Larkin married, like you have not found him after 1840 census. I had seen a reference to Mary Bookout before, but don't remember if it was marriage to Larkin. Which Joel are you referring to Joel Lucy son of Peter or another one? Joel Lucy that married Margaret Pennycuff stayed in Fentress and they are buried in Joel Lucy Reagan/Joel Hinds Cem. in Upper Crab Creek. The Anna you speak of is this a daughter of Larkin? Or the daughter of Wm. "Billy"? Pat ________________________________________________________________________ Check out AOL.com today. Breaking news, video search, pictures, email and IM.
