Pat, I don't have much info on Caleb Reagan. What I note is that since Caleb was b. either 1799 or 1801, in 1820 he would have been bet 19 and 21. Looking at the 1820 census, Peter Reagan has one son 16-26, whereas Joel has a son 16-18. If Caleb was b. 1802, then he would fit the 16-18 son of Joel Reagn. Without knowing when Caleb was actually born, it's hard to say who he belonged to. However, Charles Reagan of 1820 Overton also had a male child 16-26. Has this male child of Charles been accounted for? In response to Wm "Billy" Reagan b. 1811 TN, according to 1820 Overton Co., census, Joel, John, and Peter each have one male child born 1810-1820. Wm "Billy may be the s/o one of these Reagans of 1820 Overton. You are right in that Wm Reagan was still in NC in 1820, so he could not be the father of Wm "Billy" if indeed he is b. 1811 TN. I will continue to study my notes to see what else I can find. Sorry not much help. BTW who is the John Reagan of 1820 Overton age 45+. He is not listed as a son of Peter Sr Reagan. His descendants sent me some, and thought it might be helpful to you. Especially if you feel he might have been Joel's son instead of Peter's. And if your right then Peter also has a son that is not accounted for. Some researcher's think Wm. "Billy" Reagan was Wm's son and not Peter's, not sure I agree as Wm. was still in Wilkes Co. NC in the 1820 census and Billy was born in 1811 census shows he was born in TN which contradicts that our Reagan's came in 1818 just as the Sevier Cert. shows that Peter was in TN in 1813. Could Billy have been Joel's son?
