The Jonathan Wood I am interested in was married to Matilda Woolsey and they separated or divorced, I believe. There is an underlying reason for my inquiring about the relationship of these 4 Wood families which I didn't go into initially, because it can get too confusing. My grandfather, Aaron Solomon, was orphaned and/or abandoned at some point from 1858 to 1862 - just a guess on the latter date (even though he is listed with his father and other family members on the 1860 Wayne County census - something I refuse to accept). He and 3 of his siblings lived in various Wood homes at various times. He and his brother, Jeremiah, lived with Robert White Wood for some years and were there on the 1870 census in Clinton County. His sister, Martha, is with the William Wood family on the 1860 census in Clinton County. Lewis Solomon is with Matilda Woolsey Wood on the 1870 census in Fentress County, and he is with Jesse Wood out of Branch #2 on the 1880 census in KY. Their mother was Nancy Woolsey. I initially thought that the reason behind these children being with various Wood families was that Nancy Woolsey's sister, Elizabeth, married Matthew Wood. However, I have not as yet been able to make a connection between the Matthew Wood or Jonathan Wood families to the Woods in Clinton County, KY. I now believe that at least part of the reason Lewis was with Matilda Wood in 1870 is the Woolsey connection, not necessarily a Wood connection, as Matilda was the sister of Nancy Woolsey Solomon. See what I mean about confusing?
