Vol C: Page 146 Original C page 227 Know all men by these presents that I William R. Campbell of the County of Fentress and State of Tennessee am held and firmly bound unto Levi Voiles of the County and State Aforesaid in the just sum of One hundred dollars to which payment well and truly to be done I bind myself and my heirs firmly by these presents, sealed with my seal and dated this 16th day of September 1841. Whereas the said Campbell hath agreed to sell and convey to the said Voiles the following described boundary of land to wit: Beginning on a Lynn running Eastwardly with a conditional line meandering with the Cliff to a sugar tree; thence Southwardly a conditional line between said Campbell and Wood to a Buckeye, thence with the old line westwardly to an ash; thence Northwardly to a Hickory, thence to the beginning Containing thirty acres, more or less, and the said Voiles in consideration thereof hath bound himself to pay to the said Campbell One hundred dollars in Installments, the last payment to be made on the 25 of December 1844. Now the condition of the above obligation is such that where after the payment of the above mentioned one hundred dollar and at the request of the said Voiles, he the said Campbell shall execute and deliver to him a sufficient deed of conveyance in fee simple to the said contracted premises then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full, sealed & delivered in presence of Wm. R. Campbell{seal} State of Tennessee } Personally appeared before me John H. Richardson clerk Fentress County } of Fentress County Court Wm. H. Campbell the obligor with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the within bond for the purposes therin mentioned.
