    3. Pat, In regards to to the number of sons Peter Reagan Jr. had before 1820, I did not mean to include 1810 Wilkes Co. NC. Since Peter Jr was b. abt 1779, he would have been on his own no earlier than 1800. A male had to be 21 to own land and be on his own. He was md 1800 according to your info to Nancy. Thus they had children after 1800 beginning with Caleb 1801. So according to 1820 census Peter Jr had only 4 sons bet 1800 and 1820, including two daughters. So Wm "Billy" may or may not be a son of Peter Jr. I think that 1 of the 5 belongs to either Charles or Samuel. The d/o Larkin Reagan was Anna Caroline b. 1844 in Fentress. She md George Washington Sweet 1866. She died in MO according to source. Looking at the 1810 Wilkes, I agree that Joel had two males b. bet 1800 and 1810. In 1820 Overton, one of them is b. 1802-1804. The identity of this male child could be: 1) John Reagan b. 1802, but he is your line via Peter Jr. 2) Charles Reagan b. 1803/04 3) Possibly Larkin b. before 1810. I cannot establish a definite year for him. According to 1840 Fentress he is b. 1801-1810 with 5 children b. bef 1830. He is at least 21, thus b. before 1819, then he has 5 children by 1840, subtract 1-2 yrs for each child born apart, thus 1819-(5 to 10 yrs)= born abt 1809-1814. Larkin is not found on the census in 1830, therefore he had to be under 21 in 1830, thus b. abt 1809/1810. If he was 21 or older he would more likely have been on his own. However, In studing the 1830 Fentress census for Rachel Reagans (widow) HH we find a male b. 1800-1810. We assume he is Samuel, but now I think he could be Larkin. If Samuel was b. 1810/11, he would be the male child 15-20, not yet on his own or married. I think the male adult 20-30 is Larkin head of HH who is already married with two male children, born 1825-30. So if this is Larkin already married, he is at least 21, (b. before 1809) with 2 males <5, therefore 1809-5=b. abt 1804. This would fit the age range for Joel's male child of 1820 Overton 1802-04. If I could locate Larkin in 1850, I could establish a determined BD. For now I can ony guess he was b. before 1810. I wonder if he went to MO since his daughter, Anna Caroline is in Webster Co., MO...? Could he be there in 1850? Again any comments/feedback or additional info welcomed!!!!! As to Wm. "Billy" mentioned before some researchers think he was not the son of Peter Jr. my information on him came from a gentleman in TX who is a descendant of Wm. I am not sure we will every find out the birth dates of our ancestors, unless someone should have their family bible with dates. Joel first shows 2 sons in 1810 so would assume Samuel & Larkin were born between 1800 and 1810. As for 2 Samuel's don't know of any other besides your Jacob Samuel who evidently went by his middle name. I do not know who Larkin married, like you have not found him after 1840 census. I had seen a reference to Mary Bookout before, but don't remember if it was marriage to Larkin. Which Joel are you referring to Joel Lucy son of Peter or another one? Joel Lucy that married Margaret Pennycuff stayed in Fentress and they are buried in Joel Lucy Reagan/Joel Hinds Cem. in Upper Crab Creek. The Anna you speak of is this a daughter of Larkin? Or the daughter of Wm. "Billy"?
