Sarah, I have been unable to put James with Davy's wife. From what I understand and this is reading Davy's biography etc. his wife's father lived in Watauga Co. and owned a tavern. There were several children but they were not named. Guess it would not be impossible for them to have been siblings, but with our James it is rumored that he was half Cherokee Indian, and this is not mentioned with Davy's wife. However Davy did have a place close to Fentress, this could be because he was related to Finley's but he was also related to the Beaty's. Wilma says our James was a Capt., but have been unable to find him in War of 1812 in TN did find a Capt. James Finley in NC for War of 1812 and the date was 1813. The only thing I have seen is Sevier Cert. for Peter. (In Hogue's Book) As you can tell I do not have much more information than you do, but if we combine what we have maybe we will be lucky in finding our James for sure. Also think we should pursue what you are working on with Augusta Co. just let me know what to look for. Pat
