Emogene E. Turner, 85 MUNCIE - Emogene E. Turner, 85, died Tuesday morning June 28, 2006, at Parker Health Care following an extended illness. She was born April 7, 1921 in Byrdstown, TN the daughter of Waverly and Cora (Pritchard) Flowers, moved to Muncie as a child, graduated from Muncie Central High School and Ball Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Turner owned and operated Bethel Nursing Home for several years. Then she was a private duty nurse for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1993. Mrs. Turner was a fifty year member of East Eighteenth Street Wesleyan Church. Surviving are three sons, Gailon J. Turner (wife-Kathleen), Marble Falls, TX, Marlin R. Turner (wife-Dianna), Eaton, and Denby R. Turner (wife-Lori), Muncie; six grandchildren, Rindy, Drake, Jody, Layne, Coy, and Faith; three brothers, Earl Flowers, Muncie, Elmer Flowers, Muncie, and Edward Flowers (wife-Kim), CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Leonard Turner in 1962; her daughter, Shirley Turner; two sisters, Nina Shores and Vannie Poor; and her brother, Everett Flowers. Services will be held in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2006 with Rev. Randy G. Yaryan Sr. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday or one hour prior to services on Saturday.
