    3. Ron, Thanks for the info. Do you know what company or unit he served with in the Civil War? Do you have a Garrett ancestor related to Juda Garrett, mother of John? In the Garrett cemetery there are two graves in the same row as my GG-grandfather, James Franklin Smith, son of Geo. W. & Juda. On one stone it says Lady Ann Gunter, June, 1863 Feb. 23, 1882. On the other it says Judia Ann Choate, Jan. 17, 1882 May 19, 1915, Loving Wife of A. J. Choate. I believe Lady Ann Gunter to be the youngest daughter of Geo. W. & Juda (Garrett) Smith and wife of Jim Gunter. I believe Judia Ann Choate to be the daughter of Jim & Lady Ann Gunter and the wife of Andrew Jackson Choate. Do you have any information on these two women? 3. No I do not know what unit he served in. As to Lady Ann she was the dau of William M. Gunter & Margaret Smith the dau of George & Judith (Garrett) Smith & married Alonzo Parson Beaty. She was born 10-6-1892 & d 4-9-1976 & is buried in the Beaty Cem., Overton Vo., Tn. I did not show a James Franklin Smith as Geo & Judith's child. What info do you have for him.
