JW, I have the census but they are in storage, will try to get them this week. So am trying from memory Peter Sr. is the one listed with just his wife in 1820 census, he died 1828 this is Jacob Samuel's grandfather. In the census you are talking about is listed Peter and his sons, Joel was b. abt. 1774 which would put him at approx. 50 yrs of age, this is J. Samuel's father and Joel died before 1830 leaving his wife and children showing for that census in Fentress. Think it is in the 1830 census there is also a Larkin listed he is believed to be the brother of Samuel, have not found where he went to. All 4 of Peter Srs. sons moved to TN, even William was supposed to have come there after 1820 as he is still listed in Wilkes Co. NC for that year.
