I had posted earlier that I was going to try and find the information that Laurel Baty posted about the pension application for Jane Beaty Gunter for Andrew J. Beaty. I found it and it in the Beaty Project 2000 Mailing List Archives. Evidently her maiden name was "Jane Reagan" -- see info below. She later married William Gunter. "She has two children issue of the above name soldier (viz) John A. Beaty born April 26 day 1860 and James Beaty born Dec. 8, 1863. Beaty: "we further state that we acted as nurses at the birth of said child & that it is the only heir of said soldier." John F. Beaty and Rebecca Ragin of Fentress & Overton Counties state that "they are well acquainted with Jane Beaty, widow of Andrew J. Beaty who was a Private Co "B" 2nd Regt Tenn. A copy of the marriage record of Jane Beaty to William Gunter is in this file-the marriage occurred in Fentress County, Tennessee.
