I am looking for the date of death and the cemetery for Harrison Bledsoe and Sarah Nellie Smith. She was my great aunt. Willis Scott Bledsoe died 12 Feb 1837 in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. He is buried in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. He moved to Texas some time after the war, around 1867. A daughter, Mary Alice (my great grandmother) was born in Tennessee in 1866 and a son, William Harrison, was born in Texas in 1869. Did he live in Jamestown after the war? I know that he had a law practice in Jamestown before the war (he was admitted to the bar in Jamestown in 1860). He obviously stayed in Tennessee for a while after the war, but I have no firm information that he stayed in Jamestown. Let me know if there is more needed. Your April event sounds interesting. Are you doing anything with the Champ Ferguson/Tinker Dave Beatty aspect of the war in Fentress County. Martha Genealogy - So many ancestors...so little time! On Jan 21, 2011, at 8:03 PM, Willie R. I've been looking for the family of Judith Jordan. I've seen in various people's research that her father is believed to be River Jordan. I've found a couple of River Jordans and figure there's probably more. Does anyone know which one was Judith's father?...and does anyone know how we found out that her father's name was River? The River Jordan I had for her, husband of Priscilla Brown, died years before Judith was born. I just recieved a transcription of his will that shows he died 1699-1700. But that River Jordan had a brother George who had a son he named River. He is a more likely candidate for Judith's father. All I've seen for him are land transfers, so his wife's name is not mentioned. This River Jordan, son of George Jordan and Mary Browne was born abt. 1703 in Virginia. Does anyone know if this he is Judith's father?...Or know any more about her family?

Hi All, I've run across a note in someone else's work that Thomas B. Mathew purchased a book (title not given) from Dr. John Choate, Aug. 5, 1850 for $3.00. A. H. Mathes is listed as the author and it was published in Madison TN. Does anyone have any idea about what this book might have been? Thanks for your help. Gerri
