MUNCIE - Doris Copley Tinch, 99, went home to her Heavenly Father Friday, April 15, 2011 at Morrison Woods Health Campus following an extended illness. She was born in Fentress County, Tennessee, November 13, 1911 the daughter of George Washington and Martha (Miller) Copley. She married Albert Tinch on May 31, 1930 and was a hardworking homemaker raising her children. She and Albert moved to Muncie in 1953. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Digman, Yorktown: son-in-law William Brummette, Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Zola Beaty-Tinch, Muncie; grandchildren, Jeffrey Brummette, (Donna Lancia), London UK; Randy Brummette, (Annabelle Bexiga), Hoboken, New Jersey, Rhonda Tinch-Mize, (Joe), Edgewood, Mark Tinch (Michelle Ratterree), Muncie, Sam Digman, Indianapolis, Angie Digman-Cravens, (Todd), Muncie; five great grandchildren, Sidney and Morgan Cravens, William Brummette, Jackie Brummette and Connor Tinch. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert; her daughter, Betty Brummette; her son, Ronald Tinch and her son-in-law James Digman. The family will celebrate her life at a private memorial service to be held at a future date in Tennessee. She had been under the wonderful care of the staff of Morrison Woods since July of last year. The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The family request that donations be made in her name to Cancer Services of East Central Indiana, Inc. (Little Red Door) 401 W. She was licend air plane Pilot, her family moved to Muncie Indiana in the 1930ths , they lived by the air port , Lois desire was to FLY, she did an got her licence . During WW2 alot of women flew an delivered planes to wherever. when I first seen her, she had a 'Wiggle' when she walked, I chased her until she caught me, I put a RING on her Finger, She put a Ring in my nose! Congrats on your long marriage. So many people can't say they were married that long. My own parents never made it past nine years due to my mother, Dommie Delk Ward's death.. His full name is Laford "Lace" L. Bunch. He is a hero because of his service as a Union Soldier and Prisoner of War Veteran of the Civil War. He served first as a Private in the 4th Regiment Kentucky Mounted Infantry. That regiment later was blended into the 2nd Infantry Regiment Tennessee. Please pass this announcement along to any descendants that would like to attend the erection/placement of Lace's memorial Civil War Tombstone. DUNKIRK - Callie R. Johnson, 89, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 while in the company of family members, at Miller's Merry Manor, Dunkirk, Jay County. Callie was born in Monterey, TN on July 7, 1921, a daughter of the late Ina (Phillips) and Lee McCowan. She was a member of The Dunkirk Freewill Baptist Church of Dunkirk. She was very active in her church and an avid gardener and seamstress, enjoying her quilting. Survivors include one son, William Maynard Harris, (wife, Glenna) of Dunkirk, IN; two daughters, Estell Sisco (husband, Collins) of Crawford, TN, Doris Miars of Muncie; one sister, Dorothy Walker of Dunkirk; three grandchildren , Melody Kummer (husband, Randy) of Vila Rica, GA, Sandy Sisco (husband, Scott) of Dunkirk, and Amy McCallum (husband, Tyler) of Gilbert, AZ; two great-grandchildren, Arianna Kummer of Vila Rica, GA and Mathew Sisco of Dunkirk. Callie was preceded in death by one son, Truman; her parents; three sisters and six brothers. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at MJS Mortuaries Dunkirk Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted by Goff Funeral Home Monterey, TN, on Sunday. Calling is 1-3 p.m. with services following at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The minister will be Brother Delmer McCowan. Burial will follow in Welch Memorial Cemetery in Monterey, TN. Indiana services have been entrusted to M.J.S. Mortuaries Dunkirk Chapel and Tennessee services have been entrusted to Goff Funeral Home Monterey, TN.
