I have not yet updated my file with the new information, but you can have a look at her parents lineage at: http://www.doles.org/cgi-doles/gedview/index.cgi?a=i&Id=105521 Note: I have her parents listed as Jacob Samuel Reagan & Elizabeth Pennycuff. Elizabeth's surname is an anglicized form of her father's Johannes Bennikof or Bennighof. Good Morning, Think your Jacob Samuel Reagan was son of Joel Reagan and he was the son of Peter Reagan Sr. You might want to check Overton Co. census, think it is shown as Samuel in Fentress census 1830 and in Overton census 1840. Don't have my notes in front of me so trying to go by memory and I do have senior moments from time to time. Have a great day! Pat
Brenda, I want to thank you again for all the info you have sent to enable my search. Do you or anyone on the list... have any additional info on Jane Reagan Beaty Gunter AFTER her marriage to William Gunter? Jane was Williams 1st wife, Margaret Smith was Williams' 2nd wife. Also, any info on Janes parents, Joseph Samuel Reagan and Elizabeth Pennycuff? Earliest I find them is in 1850 Overton Co. Cannot find them in 1840. Jane would be abt 7 yrs old. And Anyone know the parents of both Joseph Samuel Reagan and Elizabeth Pennycuff? 1820 Overton pg 263 there is a Joel Reagan and John Pennycuff living not far away from one anther. Both have son and daughter the right age to be Samuel Reagan and Elizabeth Pennycuff. If anyone has any info at all on this family, would appreciate the any help. JW Garrett

I'm looking for information about the Thomas Stephens Family Reunion, which I understand is coming up. My mother was Ina (Stephens) Yates, daughter of Alexander Stephens and Buna Vista (Tipton) Stephens. If I can arrange my schedule, I'd love to attend the reunion. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks, Peg Riley.
James, that's who I have as Jane's parents too - Jacob Samuel (Samuel) Reagan (b. abt. 1810) and Elizabeth Pennycuff (b. abt. 1805). Jane has a sister, Serena Reagan, (b. abt. 1838, d. May 17, 1881 in Adair County, KY) who married Jonathan Allen Beaty (b. May 15, 1832, d. November 10, 1907 Cherry Branch, Overton County, TN. After Serena died, he married Margaret E. Winningham (b. March 05, 1857, d. March 15, 1927). Jonathan Allen Beaty and Andrew Jackson Beaty were brothers and sons of Alexander Beaty (b. abt. 1788, d. 1866) and Mary (Polly) Hull (b. Abt. 1810, d. April 1881 buried at Allardt Cemetery). I'm glad this helped solve your puzzle. Thanks to Laurel Baty from the Beaty Project 2000 for diligently copying and posting so many of the Beaty pension records on the Beaty mailing list. For anyone with Beaty connections the message board archives are great to search through using the keyword "Fentress". _http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl_ (http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl) then type in bp2000 for the name of the mailing list, to get the correct mailing list -- then type in Fentress to get information on anything posted there with Fentress in it. Now I know this John is the s/o Jane and her first husband, Andrew J Beaty. I looked to see who Jane Reagans parents were and found in 1850 Overton census a Jane age 17 in HH of Samuel and Elizabeth Reagan. Now I can begin my work on the REAGAN families! I had posted earlier that I was going to try and find the information that Laurel Baty posted about the pension application for Jane Beaty Gunter for Andrew J. Beaty. I found it and it in the Beaty Project 2000 Mailing List Archives. Evidently her maiden name was "Jane Reagan" -- see info below. She later married William Gunter. I remember a while back that J.W. Garrett was looking for information about the Jane Smith (b. abt. 1835) who was married to William M. Gunter (b. October 12, 1845, d. September 11, 1935, buried at Guntertown Cemetery, Pickett County, TN). On the Beaty mailing list the following information was posted: Andrew J. Beaty, Company "B" 2nd Tennessee Infantry, widow Jane, J. Gunter, guardian (certificate #130,712), summary posted, L2 (posted by Laurel Baty) I realized that this may be one and the same who also married William Gunter. Andrew Jackson Beaty (b. 1831 Clinton County, KY, d. February 15, 1864 Belle's Island Prison, Richmond, VA) was married to Jane Smith (I do not know who her parents were). Andrew and Jane had a son, John Allen Beaty (b. 1850) who married Mahala Frances Petty (b. April 06, 1851, d. October 10, 1931 Cincinnati, Hamilton County, OH, buried in Morgan County, TN). I have one daughter listed for them (there may have been more children) -- Lou Critty Beaty who married William Henry Simpson. When Jane Smith Beaty Gunter applied for Andrew Jackson Beaty's Civil War pension, more information about her may be listed, and her second marriage. Evidently a summary of that pension application has been posted on the Beaty mailing list (by Laurel Baty), and I'll try to see what I can find in the archives. Brenda
Brenda, Thanks for the info on Paul D. Koger. I am trying to find the connection between him and my own Kogers, but so far haven't been successful. Our Kogers came from VA into Wayne and Clinton Counties KY and later into TN. My connection is my grandmother, Sally Koger<James Wolford<Anderson<Thomas<Nicholas<Han Jacob, etc.earlier. Do you happen to know if Porter is through any of these ancestors?
