Hi Sarah, I was in touch with Carmen about 10 yrs. ago. Gave her the information I had but she could not place him for me at that time. Perhaps I should check again, do you have the web site? Hoping this year you and I can get together on our Reagan genealogy. Have a good day! Pat
Hi Gearlie, Sorry I do not know where Rebecca is buried. Have a good day! Pat
Pat, I live on Cove Creek about one half mile from where it empties into East Fork of the Obey River. But Cove Creek heads up about 3-4 miles north of me. If one is coming from either Manson or Boatland to Little Crab, Cove Creek would be no more than than 3-4 four miles from either of the 3 locations. The way the roads are now, Cove Creek follows close to 52 West for a couple miles before it empties into East Fork. Little Crab road turns off highway 52W and crosses Cove Creek in about 200 yards. There is an old bridge that is narrow and has iron rail sides. I think it is supposed to be replaced soon (of course for the state, "soon" may mean 20 years). But I have heard that the project may get under way sooner than that, and another bridge also on highway 52W that crosses Bransford Branch, just before you get to Little Crab Road going west. Pat, I have looked into James Findley (Finley) trying to connect him to the well documented family in Augusta County, VA, in the 1700s. Carmen Finley, the administrator for that Augusta Co rootsweb site seems to have a good bit of information, but I have too little to be able to tap into it correctly. Have you been in touch with her? Sarah

Thank you, Jaydee! Not sure of the spelling myself. Have a great day! Pat
Willie, How far is that from Cove Creek? Pat
My GG grandfather, William Smith, sold land to a James Finley Sr. in 1843. Maybe they spelled Findley wrong. It was in District 2. Jaydee
Pat, It looks like James Findley lived about 80 houses from John Reagan in 1850. Pat, In 1850 John Reagan and Nancy Findley lived three houses away from another person I am researching, and the record I have of that person is that they lived in the Manson area of Fentress County. I think that would have been in the 1860 District 1, but not sure if it was the same district in 1850. District 1 included Little Crab and the present West Fentress area. As the crow flies it was not very far from Little Crab, just a few miles and across the East Fork of Obey River. Hi Milly, My James Findley was the father of Nancy who married John Reagan. They all lived in Fentress Co. Reagan's lived Little Crab, and would like to know where James lived. Thought if I could find that information might give me a clue as to where he is buried. Thanks, Pat

Erma, I think I've asked you before, but which Richardson's are you looking for? We've made contact with a distant Richardson relative in SC that provided us with several generations back on our Richardson lines to the 1700's. No, when Douglas Miller died, she remarried, a man named Edwards. Apparently, she died shortly after that, sometime between the 1880 and 1900 census but we don't know when. When Maranda died, her husband, Loucious Winfield Edwards, known as Lew, married Mary Etta Miller (his stepdaughter!). We don't know exactly when that was, and the missing 1890 census would have given us a better idea, but we all know that story. Mary Etta (Miller) Edwards is the great-aunt of mine who is buried in Hanging Limb. -----Original Message----- From: Wlcrab@aol.com [mailto:Wlcrab@aol.com] Sent: Friday, December 09, 2005 10:37 PM To: TNFENTRE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNFENTRE-L] Clark Range cemetery Would this be the woman you are looking for. Hi List, This summer, I wandered up the mountain to where Wilder used to be; I found a great-aunt's grave/headstone in Hanging Limb, but I got kind of lost and finally went on to Jamestown. Ran out of time and came home to NC. My grandparents and father were born in Wilder. Maranda Hodge Miller was my g-grandmother, but I know almost nothing about her. A cousin suggested she might be buried at the Clark Range cemetery. The cemetery I think I am talking about is where George and Effie Ashburn are buried, on the east side of the mountain where Wilder used to be. George Ashburn was the first American soldier wounded in France in WWI. His wife Effie was also a great-aunt. Their son, Nolan, is my cousin and he thinks Douglas and Maranda (Hodge) Miller might be in that cemetery. Maranda later married a man named Loucious Winfield Edwards. But he is buried in Clifty Cemetery, with no date on the headstone. By the way, where is the campground cemetery? I know this is rambling - I have GOT to get more organized!
