I have a John C. Reagan who served with Company D, 2nd Tennessee Infantry Regiment of the Union Army. He served from May 1863 to March 1865. Would this be your John Calvin? Gary D. Wilma & Millie, Cora Hazel Delk (my mother) was born June 23, 1917, so she wasn't around at the time of the WWI registration on June 5, 1917. You are right, Zelma (3/28/1911) and Edna (4/24/1914) would have been there and under 12 at that time. I have Odie's birth date as Feb. 15, 1895 also, but I can't vouch for it's accuracy. Crossville Chronicle obit Published January 18, 2006 Ruby Todd Feb. 12, 1916 - Jan. 11, 2006 Ruby (Turner) Todd, 89, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 11, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 14 at Clarkrange United Methodist Church, with Bro. Ronald Whited and Sis. Kathie Bowls officiating. Burial was in Clarkrange Cemetery in Fentress County. Mrs. Todd was born Feb. 12, 1916, in the Indian Creek community of Fentress County, the daughter of Oscar and Viola (Beaty) Turner. The Turner family moved to Clarkrange in 1919. She attended school at Clarkrange and graduated valedictorian of the 1934 CHS graduating class, the first class at Clarkrange to graduate wearing caps and gowns. After high school, she attended Milligan College and later Middle Tennessee State University, finishing a total of three years of college education. She returned to Clarkrange where she taught school at both Roslin and Grimsley. With the onset of World War II, she wanted to do the patriotic thing, so she moved to Detroit, MI, to work in the factories. She lived and worked there for 20 years before returning to Clarkrange to live with her parents and return to teaching. She taught junior high math at Clarkrange High School for about 10 years. During this time, she kept books for the basketball teams and attended all their games. Mrs. Todd loved the Clarkrange community, Clarkrange High School and the Clarkrange Buffaloes. On March 14, 1975, Ruby married Willie Todd, her childhood sweetheart. She retired from teaching in June 1975. Ruby and Willie built a home on Lake Sherwood in Fairfield Glade where they enjoyed their retirement to its fullest. They especially enjoyed spending 4-5 months every winter in Ft. Myers Beach, FL, walking on the beach and "shelling." When they grew too old to travel to Florida, they spent their winters watching sports on television. During their marriage, they traveled across the United States and visited both Canada and Mexico. Ruby lost her beloved Willie on Nov. 23, 2003 and has spent most of her time since at her home where she enjoyed daily conversations with her sister, Bernice. Ruby dearly loved her family. She took great pride in every accomplishment made by her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. Survivors include her sister, Bernice Little; stepson, Lyle Todd of Waynesboro, PA; stepdaughter, Lila Fox of Vista, CA; nephew, Lynn Shelby Little and wife Pat of Crossville; nieces, Nancy Little McClanahan and husband Janson of Crossville and Judy Turner Jones and husband Mike of Clarkrange; great-nieces, Erin Diane Little, Erica Lynn Little and Kari Michelle Jones; and great-nephews, Matthew Janson McClanahan, Colton Lee McClanahan and Steven Turner Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Todd; and brother, Dr. Shelby O. Turner. Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown was in charge of the arrangements.

Good afternoon, The Middle Tennessee Genealogical Society would like to invite members of our sister societies on Rootsweb to our annual "Show and Tell" meeting this Saturday, January 21, at 1 p.m. at the Edmondson Pike Branch of the Nashville Public Library. "Show and Tell" is one of our most popular meetings. It provides an open forum for anyone to bring in a favorite project, artifact, heirloom, photo or other family history material and make a brief presentation. Presentation order is based on first-come; first-served basis and time is apportioned according to the number of speakers we have. If you have not visited our site at <http://www.rootsweb.com/~tntgs> http://www.rootsweb.com/~tntgs - please do so. This past month we have posted 24 new web pages with surnames our members are researching. We invite you to join us. Detailed instructions are on our rootsweb site. When you send email with your surnames, it is always helpful to include as much information as you have - such as counties, years, etc. - as much as you know. Our site: <http://www.mtgs.org/> http://www.mtgs.org has details of our organization you may wish to know. Visit us there also. See you Saturday at the Edmondson Branch. Milly if he is the Odie Delk we are talking about it has to be the one in PA. The one in John Hurst's household is the son of Red John Delk, the one Bill Smith killed about two years before. I'm sure I have here somewhere who Zona married after the death of John, her daughter Gertie married a Guinn in Clinton Co., KY, in fact mother and daughter were both married in Clinton Co., KY. The daugher, Gertie has a son who lives here, but I could not get one word out of the family about his mother. You don't say when Odie draft was, but in 1918 or there about I would think and you know he might have had two sisters under 12, they would have been half sisters, but that could be. I will also tell you that if it is this Odie is s/o James Alfred Delk he was born in 1895, if his mothers rock is right at Wolf for she died in September 1895 and I have him born as February 1895. More one learns the less they know. I haven't heard from the woman yet, but maybe later today. Wilma

I think you can obtain the death certificate without anything but your indentification. That was all I had to do to obtain them from the health dept. in Jefferson County,Tx. This will give you the cause of death and parents names. I do not think you can obtain hospital records without a court order unless you are immediate family. They are considered "priviledge information". However, maybe if you are a grandchild, and need them for your own records it could make a difference. I don't know. But, check at the courthouse and the clerk will tell you. The county clerk, that is.
Sarah: Thank you for your reply. I guess the mystery is still to be solved. Sorry I could not help any more. My son-in-law has done an extensive search of the WRIGHT family from the Maryland area and I will see if he has anything to connect this family together. I will get back to you on this as soon as I get an answer. Thanks again for your response. Dixie (SCOTT)
Has anyone filed for or obtained medical records for a deceased ancestor recently? I would like to obtain copies of some hospital records for a deceased grandparent. I have been told a court order is needed to obtain them. Is this true? How do I obtain the court order for the records? Any information appreciated. Linda
Hi JW, Just got my computer back today, it crashed on me a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for the reply. I live in NC, will see if I can find anything on John Winningham. Pat
